Records reveal that Gary Neville is actually a ‘Scouser’

Love him or hate him, ex-Manchester United defender Gary Neville will always be part of English Premier League folklore. In the past he has not been shy to hide his hatred for bitter rivals Liverpool. But, now he’ll have to eat his words as scientists have discovered he has deep-lying DNA roots stemming from the city of Liverpool thanks to great, great, great grandparents!

The article below has been sourced from the Mirror.

Liverpool-hating Gary Neville has Scouse roots, it has been revealed.

Genealogists have discovered that the former Manchester United defender is descended from great, great, great grandparent who were born in Merseyside.

Neville has long been a Anfield hate figure after repeatedly speaking of his dislike for Liverpudlians.

He once said: “I can’t stand Liverpool, I can’t stand the people, I can’t stand anything to do with them.”

Neville was fined £5,000 in 2006 for taunting Liverpool fans after a last-minute goal at Old Trafford.

And during his early years at United, after his father Neville Neville interrupted an interview to tell him to tone down his anti-Scouse comments, Neville replied: “But dad, I do hate them.”

The Sky Sports pundit found out the truth on James Corden’s panel show A League Of Their Own, in an episode to be screened on Saturday.

When told his relatives were Liverpudlian, he holds his head in his hands and shouts “f***” – but refuses to pose holding a Liverpool shirt with his name on the back.

Gary is doing well as a pundit so lets leave him there. Folk in the UK say he had a ‘priceless’ look on his face after the 6-1 drubbing by City.
