Usain Bolt is set to play for Manchester United

usain-bolt-man-unitedUsain Bolt will finally get the chance to play for dream club Manchester United at Rio Ferdinand’s testimonial next month.

Ferdinand was rewarded for over a decade of service at Old Trafford with a match against Sevilla next month, and he urged David Moyes to let the world’s fastest man play.

Bolt is a big fan of United and good friends with recently retired boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

A source told The Sun: ‘Usain has finally got his wish and he’ll be lining up alongside Rio.
‘It should be quite a game. It will be fascinating to see if Usain’s speed will be matched by his passing and ball control.’

Bolt, 26, previously begged Sir Alex to give him a trial for the Premier League champions. He said: ‘I know I could make a difference. I’d be the fastest in the team — but I can play as well.

‘If Ferguson called me up and said, ‘OK let’s do this, come and have a trial’, it would be impossible for me to say no.’

While he wouldn’t quite go that far, Ferguson had been keen to include the Jamaican in United’s match against the Real Madrid legends last month, but plans were scuppered when the legendary manager retired.

However, the selection of Bolt for the August 9 friendly should be confirmed by the club next week, fresh off the back of his world leading time in the 200metres.

Bolt shattered Michael Johnson’s 23-year-old meeting record of 20.01secs to win in 19.73secs in the Diamond League in Paris.
