Who let cat out the bag at Anfield?

In case you missed it, Anfield became the stage for a stray cat that took to the pitch during the Liverpool vs Tottenham game last night. The Anfield cat has become an internet sensation as play was held up in the 11th minute when the little puss ran on to the pitch and darted towards Spurs goalkeeper Brad Friedel’s goal. The Anfield crowd quickly came up with a response: ‘a cat, a cat, a cat, a cat, a cat, a cat’ in relation to the usual chant heard: attack! attack! attack!

The now famous feline has an ‘official’ Twitter account which attracted more than 16,000 followers. The Anfield cat tweeted: ‘in my 3 minute cameo I’ve ran past more players than Stewart Downing has all season.’

A video of the pitch invasion on YouTube racked up more than 25,000 views in just 12 hours. See it below or here
