Lippi: I’d love to coach in Premier League

Marcello Lippi has expressed his interest in managing in the Premier League.

The 63-year-old, who guided Italy to FIFA World Cup™ glory in 2006 and stepped down from his second spell at their reins after South Africa 2010, also revealed Chelsea would be an attractive proposition.

Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League exit at the hands of Manchester United turned up the pressure on Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti, with the London club 11 points behind the Red Devils in the Premier League.

Lippi said on Radio Mana Mana: “I miss coaching – this is normal. My years have been intense and rewarding.

“There were also disappointments, but this is absolutely normal because you cannot always win. In this respect I can only be satisfied, but the desire to do my job is still there.

“The future? I’d love to coach in the Premier League. Chelsea? It would be nice, but also to lead a national team would not hurt.”
